This comfortable and welcoming house is situated within walking distance of the many attractions of Solva, a picturesque coastal village with harbour set within the Pembrokeshire National Park.
Ty Talcen has a 4 star Welsh Tourist Board rating and is ideally placed as a starting point for walks along the Pembrokeshire coastal path and for exploration of local beaches and surrounding areas, including the Cathedral City of St Davids and the islands of Skomer and Ramsey. There are a number of good pubs in the village, all of which provide meals.
Located in the village of Solva.Ty Talcen offers sleeping for 4 in 1 double bedroom, & 1 twin bedroom, There is a 1st floor bathroom with bath/wc, and an additional ground floor shower room and WC. There is also the lounge and kitchen/diner. Recently refurbished, it is very comfortable and spacious.
Ty Talcen was built in the early 1970s as part of an old farm square redvelopment and was used as a family holiday home for a number of years. It has now been refurbished and has a high standard of finish, with accommodation comprising entrance to the dining /kitchen area with modern fitted kitchen including dishwasher, washing machine and double oven and tiled floor. Steps lead to the comfortable sitting room with TV/DVD. There is also a shower and w/c on the ground floor, and a back door opening onto a small patio area with views over the village to St Brides Bay beyond. The stairs access the Double and Twin bedded rooms and the family bathroom. The property is all electric, with convector heaters in every room, it also benefits from 2 night storage heaters which maintain the warmth on the chilly nights.
There is good off road parking for 2 cars alongside the house and a pet can be brought by agreement (need to check direct with owners). Ty Talcen is a Saturday changeover with arrival any time after 16.30 and departure by 10.30. There are no 'extras' as power and bedding (douvets) are included in the rate quoted on the web site. This is a very popular property and is generally booked from Easter to the October 1/2 term so early reservations are advised. Ty Talcen is a Non Smoking property.
As of 2010 we have a 'sister' property which is just 15 metres from Ty Talcen, Ty Golchi sleeps 2 in a double bedroom, but has great views from the sitting room, the bedroom and the private terrace over St Brides Bay. Although Ty Golchi is a Friday changeover, the 2 could be booked together which would increase the 'accommodation' level to 6 (unfortunately it would still be Friday arrival/departure for Ty Golchi, and Saturday for Ty Talcen). A mainly English speaking county, Pembrokeshire is known for the quality of its beaches (with many blue flag awards) and as being one of three national parks in Wales (Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons being the others) and the only coastal one. Around the coastline is the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, a 186 mile walking trail which offers stunning views of the cliffs and surrounding sea.
